Still need to turn in Swim-A-Thon money?

It’s not too late….if you still have Swim-A-Thon money to turn in please put it into the Chamberlain folder at the pool ASAP or contact Casey Chamberlain @ 206-0575 to make arrangements. All monies need to be collected and counted. Just a reminder that this team fundraiser is part of our family commitment policy and a minimum amount of $100 per family needed to be raised. Families not turning the minimum amount may forfeit their family commitment check. If you have questions or concerns about this policy and the minimum please contact Teal Girgen so we can help you meet this goal

Ready to sign up for Spring Busing?

Click on the link below to sign up for the Spring Busing/Chaperone Option.

Deadline to sign up for busing is March 29, 2012.

We will have registration for the HAST Spring/Summer Season at the MS Pool on the following days:

March 20- 7-8PM

March 22- 7-8PM

March 27- 6-7:30PM

March 29- 6-7:30PM

*** Reminder all swimmers must be registered by April 3, 2012 to swim ANY of the Spring/Summer Options. Even if you plan to swim the Summer Only option you must be registered by April 3rd so we can plan coach and pool time for the whole season. We will have finalized practice schedules out after the April 3rd deadline. Any late registrations will be charged a $25 late fee and will be ineligible to swim the IOWA Summer Sizzler Meet due to meet entry deadlines. Email with any questions…;)

Next ILTS Session- Classes start Feb 20th!

The next session of ILTS classes begins Monday, February 20th!

Do you have a swimmer who may be interested in Winter Swim Classes? Do you know someone who does? We have many classes lined up to begin February 20th and running through May 16th for all levels and abilities. Free swimmer evaluations will be offered on several dates throughout February and March. Don’t see a date that works for you? Have further questions about our swim program? Wondering if your child might be ready to join our growing local swim team? Email coachkim@hastswimteam.com with those questions or to set up an alternate swimmer evaluation that works for you!

Evaluations and Tryouts will be held at the Hastings MS Pool from 7-8pm on the following dates:

HAST FEB IMX+ Meet – Feb 11-12, 2011
71 HAST swimmers competed at this meet, where they achieved the flowing new times:
1-ZONE, 11-CHAMP, 27-A, 28-B, 17-C.

The following HAST swimmers won a trophy for earning the most points for their 6 swims:
Philip Jensen 8&U Boys , Kelly Leonard 11-12 Girls, Stephen Smith 11-12 Boys, Brina Kari 13-14 Girls

Telma Roesler-12, Abberly Smith-13 and Eva Storkamp-10 were named the HAST swimmers of the meet.
Telma swam 5/6 best times, 1 new CHAMP time & 2 new A times .
Abberly swam 6/6 best time, 1 new CHAMP, 4 new A times & 1 new B time.
Eva swam 6/6 best times, improving a total of 50.6 seconds, and swimming 2 new C times.

On behalf of the HAST Board we want to extend a huge THANKS to all the families that helped to make our final meet in this pool a success!

So much time and effort goes into running a meet, before during and after. There are many things that have to be done to pull off a good meet and we accomplished all of those things this weekend! Someone commented to me this weekend that “It takes a village to run a swim meet” and I could not agree more.

We appreciate all your hard work, smiling faces and your flexibility!

So THANKS to those that worked so hard before the meet to make sure we had everything in place, to those that worked during the meet to make sure everything ran smoothly and to those that helped out after so we could tie it all up in a neat little bow!

Looking forward to doing it all again in the future in our “NEW” pool!
